THE PRECISION PAVERS STORY 

The year was 1984. Ronald Reagan was president. While working for his brother’s landscaping company, Bob Streiff built a patio using a funny, zigzag shaped, man-made concrete paver known as Pavestone. That was the start of something great! Bob recognized that unlike plants and shrubs that can die in the Texas summers and random freezes, these pavers would last a lifetime (if installed properly). At the age of 22, Bob decided to start his own business building patios, walkways, and driveways. With that, Precision Pavers was established.

Within a year, Precision Pavers quickly became known as one of the best installers of the new, exciting product called Pavestone. Bob continued to master his craft. At the time, this product was so new that there weren’t many specifications or guidelines available detailing its proper installation. Having specifications for proper installation was a must if this product was going to stand the test of time, so the Interlocking Concrete Paver Institute (ICIP) was formed. Bob Streiff was in the first graduating class of ICIP, a course designed to educate contractors on the proper installation of pavers.

Next, Bob was asked to get certified as an instructor and he became the first contractor in the United States to earn that certification. With that, Pavestone hired Bob to travel the country teaching other contractors the proper steps for base prepping, sand bedding, and laying pavers. He taught others the methods to ensure that this product would remain beautiful and functional for years. Bob went on to build award-winning installations, be recognized nationally with awards, and be featured in television how-to shows. He was also featured in national magazines, and of course, manufacturers use Precision Pavers photos in their brochures!

Today, Precision Pavers is in its fifth decade of creating fabulous backyards, front yards, and more. The owner Bob is still very active in all aspects of the company, his son Cory now runs the daily operations of Precision Pavers. Cory brings the same fine eye for detail to the company that his father taught him. But Cory has brought even more to the firm with his incredible computer skills, creating 3-D renderings that allow our customers to see their project with great detail and specificity. As Cory’s talents earn him recognition as an industry leader, Precision Pavers continues to grow and expand its excellence, creating an even larger gap between them and the rest of the pack.
